The thing that had Twitter going a few days ago between Rick Ross and his Triple C’s crew and Slim Thug, (which was just a publicity stunt) has apparently been dealt with, and no explanation has been offered, but hey, that’s cool. Anyway, here is a new track featuring Ross and Slim and its called Paid Tha Cost.

For those who don’t know, this smooth track is sampled from a classic song by the late Soul legend James Brown. Check it out.

The latest movie from playwright and director Tyler Perry, For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf, is coming to the big screen a lot sooner than its previously announced Jan.2011 release date; the AJC is saying the Ntozake Shange-penned screenplay is coming in the Fall.

The movie stars Janet Jackson (who replaced a pregnant Mariah Carey) and British actress Thandie Newton.

The film, with a slew of stars, was filmed largely here in the metro Atlanta area. Some scenes were shot in New York, but much of the work happened here…

The film also stars Whoopie Goldberg, Kerry Washington, Kimberly Elise, Phylicia Rashad, Loretta Devine and Tessa Thompson. -AJC.com The Buzz

The riveting play, consisting of a series of poems performed through a cast of nameless women, known only by a color — deals with such subjects as love, abandonment, rape, and abortion. It was widely acclaimed when it debuted at The Booth Theater in 1976.

Though the cast is star-studded, Tyler Perry is not expected to resume his cross-dressing role as gun-toting ‘hood harlequin Madea for this film.

Former Fugees front woman Lauryn Hill-who once was regarded as the brightest star in Hip Hop-has been gone for a minute. Rumors have abounded, but now an older looking but seemingly grounded and happy Lauryn is performing again. Though she did not commit to putting out a new album in the interview, she suggested new recordings are on the way.

News is coming in that Hip Hop super group Bone Thugs N Harmony are done as a group-for good this time. Though they have went their separate ways before, the now thirty something Thugs-who put Cleveland, Ohio and Midwestern Rap on the map-seem to have a little beef jerky on their plates these days. Here’s what Lazy Bone said on Facebook:

“MY REVELATION IS FAKE N*GGAZ GOTTA GO.”

Bone is one of the most successful groups to ever impact Hip Hop. They have been together as a group since 1994, and have achieved multi-platinum status. They were originally discovered by their idol Eazy-E, who died of AIDS in 1995.

The death of their mentor was an early setback in their careers; later, various members would end up in jail on different occasions, and record sales for the group has receded over the years. But all in all, Bone did what most Rap groups usually never do: They managed to stay a group for close to two decades, while continuing to craft hits together.

Bone had only recently put a project together with all 5 members; a record deal and Rock album was purported to be in the works.

Meanwhile, this latest news should suck for fans in Minneapolis, Gainesville, Florida, and Kansas City- Bone had concerts scheduled in all of those places next.

Singer Llyod has cut off his trademark long hair. The man who is referred to as ‘Long Hair Don’t Care’ has donated his formerly long locks to Locks For Love, which is a charity that donates hair to be utilized for people who are suffering from medically caused hair loss.

Llyod is also a new signee to Polow Da Don’s Zone 4 imprint; he was previously an artist signed to  Def Jam/The Inc.
